MIAA updated high school football power ratings

As the final week of the high school football regular season approaches, teams are gearing up to secure their spot in the playoffs or improve their seeding in the MIAA tournament. At the moment, 23 South Shore teams are projected to be in the playoff field, according to Tuesday’s rankings.

Leading the way as the No. 1 seeds in their respective divisions are Hanover in Division 5 and Norwell in Division 6. Norwell has a 1-2 record against their South Shore League rival, Abington, in Division 6.

Milton, Duxbury, Rockland, and Carver currently hold the No. 2 seeds in their divisions, which are Division 3, Division 4, Division 7, and Division 8, respectively.

The MIAA calculates the rankings based on scores entered into Arbiter Live by 4 a.m. on Tuesday. To qualify for the football playoffs, teams must have at least three wins and have played a total of seven games.
