Jordan Poole embraces military-style approach to Wizards leadership role – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

Jordan Poole Takes on Leadership Role with Young Washington Wizards

In his new role with the Washington Wizards, Jordan Poole is embracing the challenge of becoming a leader. After spending four seasons with the Golden State Warriors, playing alongside greats like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala, Poole was traded to the Wizards this offseason in exchange for veteran guard Chris Paul.

In a recent feature story by The Ringer’s Logan Murdock, Poole revealed that he has been actively working on improving his leadership skills during the offseason. According to Murdock, Poole watched Navy SEAL training videos online and studied how admirals lead their troops into battle. He even led a minicamp with his teammate Kyle Kuzma at the Wizards facility.

Poole believes he is the right person for the leadership role due to his personality, authenticity, positive energy, and faith in God. He wants to rally the city behind the team, interact with fans, and inspire the youth. Despite gaining valuable knowledge and experience from his time with the Warriors, Poole knows that simply watching videos won’t be enough. He hopes to apply what he has learned and lead the Wizards back to playoff contention.

Being a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks while growing up in Milwaukee, WI, Poole understands the process of building a successful franchise. He witnessed firsthand the transformation of the Bucks and knows that it takes time and determination. Poole sees the opportunity with the Wizards as a chance to start something special and is excited about the challenge.

Having experienced both success and failure with the Warriors, Poole is determined to become the leader he aspires to be. He hopes to guide a hungry Wizards team to achieve greatness.
