LAWRENCE — Kansas basketball recently secured a commitment from Rakease Passmore, adding another talented player to its 2024 recruiting class.
Passmore, a 247Sports Composite four-star small forward from Combine Academy in North Carolina, is ranked 44th overall among prospects in the country and 13th at his position.
When asked why he chose Kansas, Passmore explained, “I was drawn to their winning culture. They consistently achieve success, and I want to be a part of that. Bill Self is an exceptional college coach, and I believe I’ll thrive in his system.”
Passmore turned down offers from LSU and Oklahoma in favor of Kansas. He joins the ranks of five-star center Flory Bidunga and four-star point guard Labaron Philon as public commits for the Jayhawks’ recruiting class.
With the addition of Passmore, Kansas now boasts the third-ranked recruiting class in the nation, both overall and in the composite rankings. They are poised to compete not only for the Big 12 Conference title but also for a national championship. Although Passmore may not be part of the immediate championship run, he is committed to contributing to the program’s future under head coach Bill Self.
