WASHINGTON, D.C. – Magomed Magomedkerimov is keen on joining PFL’s latest acquisition.
Having clinched the 2023 PFL featherweight title, Magomedkerimov (33-6) aspires to conclude his appearances under the promotion’s season structure and transition to one-off Bellator fights. PFL recently acquired rival promotion Bellator and intends to manage it in parallel with their traditional season.
“I’m looking for something more intriguing, with opponents of Jason Jackson’s caliber, after completing 16 PFL fights and illustrating all that I can,” Magomedkerimov expressed to MMA Junkie through an interpreter. “I’m after the next level.”
In the recent 2023 PFL Championship, Magomedkerimov submitted Sadibou Sy to secure the featherweight title, marking his second PFL title win after his initial triumph in 2018.
Following his victory, Magomedkerimov faced off against Bellator welterweight champion Jason Jackson. Eager for a showdown in early 2024, Magomedkerimov aspires to pursue fights outside PFL’s seasonal format.
“I’m thrilled about facing Jason Jackson next because he’s a champion,” Magomedkerimov shared. “I’ve fought most PFL competitors, and this represents the next level. I can’t wait to face him and secure my second belt from the Bellator champ.”
